Dear Christian Friends,
It is a great pleasure to share
with you once again what the Lord has been doing through the ministry
and how worthy His name is!
We have been preaching at Orleans
Prison and have been blessed to see His Hand at work within the Body
of believers behind the wall. They are no different to Him, just in a
different location.
In August my wife shared about “Turning Our Hearts”out of Malachi 4:6 during the service and many of those inmates present broke down and wept openly. Some came to Christ for the first time and others who know Him desperately wanted Him to heal their relationships as they came crying to Him. He truly does heal the broken hearted. (Psalm 147:3)
In September I spoke to the inmates on the “God of Miracles” based on Psalm 72: 17,18. Many were encouraged to believe God to do miracles for them as many confessed they had grown “stale” in believing our God for big things and for miracles.
In October, the Lord kept us on the move. I was given the privilege of speaking at Faith Temple in Rochester, NY on the 5th. The Word the Lord gave me was “Behold” taken out of John 1:29 and 2nd Corinthians 5:17. Many came forward desiring to behold the Lord in a fresh, new way. Again many said they felt “stale”, taking so much for granted. Praise God for His mercies that are new every morning! (Lamentations 3: 22,23). We then went onto Atlanta, GA to conduct an alumni event (a gathering of graduates from Christ-centered programs). It was hosted by Rock Church of Atlanta where Rev. & Mrs. Michael Clinkscales are the pastors and Nehemiah House Director, Deacon Michael Nelms. It was a powerful time in God! It was a practical application of Matthew 22:9. Hard-core “junkies”, prostitutes, and the homeless were invited for breakfast and lunch (prepared by the church) at a local community center in the heart of one of the worst ghettos in Atlanta. As the Good News was shared 19 souls of great worth came weeping to accept our precious Lord, the only One Who can give HOPE! One homeless man, lame for 25 years accepted Christ and was also healed! To God Be The Glory, Great Things He Has Done! We felt so privileged to be a part of it. My wife remarked how they are truly treasures out of darkness (Isaiah 45:3) just as all of us are when we come to Christ. Please pray for these men and women as God restores them and their families. We were able to find programs for all those in need including one woman with a young child and another woman who was homeless. Upon our return from Atlanta, it was time to speak at Orleans Prison once again. The Lord gave me a message entitled “Knowledge, Faith, Decision, Action” which was based on dimensions of each of the Gospels. Four inmates came to receive healing, one with stomach pain, 2 with leg/ankle pain and another who couldn't bend his arm. God in His mercy touched each one setting them free! Isn't our God good?! The end of October found us traveling to New Jersey with our one son, Joshua who has taken a temporary break in military service to search out the Lord's direction for his life. (He is considering attending Elim Bible Institute in Lima, NY). So please keep him in prayer. While in New Jersey we had the opportunity to share at International Revival Tabernacle where Rev. & Mrs. Ernest Trueblood are the pastors. The Word of the Lord to all of us was : “CHANGE”. We need to be changed in order to be ready for change because God is the ONE who changes not! (Malachi 3:6)
Please keep us in prayer for upcoming services and for our
sons, Joshua (as he looks for direction) and for Jesse (as he
completes his military training and for his upcoming wedding in
December) as well as our older 2 children Jason and Elizabeth as they
continue their work and studies.
We so deeply appreciate all your
prayers and support as we look to continue to serve Him. We thank God
for you and we keep you in prayer also. (Philippians 1:3).
As we enter this time of year with Thanksgiving and Christmas near, remember we all have so much to be thankful for (Ephesians 5:20). Just knowing that He gave first (John 3:16) and that He knows our name (Jeremiah 15:16) is cause for praise and thanksgiving! Keep the lost, those less fortunate and those in our military before the Throne of Grace.
BE ENCOURAGED IN THE LORD! (PSALM 100:1-5)
Your servants in Him,
Herman &
Sandra
