JULY-AUG-SEPT 2007

Dear Christian Friends,

Greetings in the Name Above All others: JESUS! We are writing to say thanks to all of you for all your support in prayer and financially. You keeping us before the Throne of Grace means so much to us.

We want to share with you what has occurred over the recent months and how God is truly moving by His Spirit. To hear and see all that is happening in the world today anyone would feel fearful and hopeless, leaving many to be totally discouraged. That is when we really need to press into God, believing His sovereign, good report and occupy until He comes. (Phil. 4:8 & Luke 19:13). We do have Good News! Jesus is still Lord! No matter what is happening in our own lives or around the world. He is still FAITHFUL! He can be TRUSTED! He IS our HOPE! (Romans 5:1-5)

During our trip to Virginia for the Assembly 2007 we really saw how destitute our nation is, but we also saw how His people came in humility and brokenness. The Body of Christ came seeking His face, asking for His forgiveness for our wicked ways, asking for forgiveness from each other as well as for our nation. We as the Body of Christ have often been distracted from THE MISSION to carry the LIGHT, not always acting in His love. We came away from this four day event feeling the Lord heard the prayers and repentance of His people and that He is getting ready to do a new thing and come and heal our land.

When we returned I left for Brooklyn to speak at the Anchor House for their 40th anniversary of rescuing young men & women from lives of sin and addiction. The Lord met with us in a powerful way, touching many souls. During some free time while in New York I was walking with my friend Dr. Johnny Vargas and right there on the streets of New York we were able to lead a man to Christ. What an awesome God we serve that He would arrange such a Divine appointment!

Then when I returned my wife and I went to Pennsylvania to speak on Mothers’ Day weekend. On that Friday night I spoke at the Teen Challenge Training Center (the place I met Christ nearly 40 years ago.) We saw God move powerfully, breaking strongholds! I spoke on “The God of All Circumstances” out of Psalm 142. Many came forward in repentance, asking for His touch. Peace flooded the entire chapel as many were set free. Halleluiah! On Mothers’ Day my wife spoke at the Bi-lingual Christian Fellowship in Harrisburg. Her message was entitled “A Name for Every Occasion: A Cure for the Common Fear” based on Samuel’s response to his name being called by God (I Samuel 3:10) and how we’re to call upon His Name (Psalm 34:1-3). Many came forward and were set free from fear. Praise God!

June was a little quieter with a trip to Queens, NY to participate in a ceremony involving a good friend of mine who was receiving an honorary doctorate. I also attended a chaplains’ conference in Stony Point, NY. It was awesome to see what God is doing among the chaplains. Please pray they will have godly wisdom as they deal with inmates.

July has already had us back in Pennsylvania. We visited Teen Challenge Training Center for Celebrate 2007. Both Dave and Don Wilkerson spoke. It was powerful. We got see our spiritual parents again, the Heiseys. While there I was given the opportunity to speak in Harrisburg. The Lord gave me a message entitled “Knowing the Difference: the Word, the Way and the Will of God” based on John 1:14, Psalm 1:6 and Mark 3:35.

We have now returned and are preparing for two very important events that we want you to keep in earnest prayer. Our youngest son, Jesse is following in the footsteps of our 3rd child, Joshua. He joined the Army (officially sworn in on June 15th) and will be leaving for basic training to Ft. Jackson, SC August 1st. We’ll be attending the swearing in ceremony (for family) that morning. Then in the evening, August 1-3 (Wed-Fri) at 7:00 PM nightly we will be speaking at a tent meeting in Rochester, NY on the corner of Hudson Avenue and Northeast Avenue (in the parking lot of the former Our Supermarket). Pastor Williams of the Church of God in Christ is sponsoring it. We are asking the Lord to break the strongholds of drugs, gangs and violence that is gripping the city of Rochester and once again making the murder capital of New York State (per capita). Please keep these dates before the Lord. We are believing for deliverance, salvation and the healing of a city in desperate need of His touch.

God bless all of you and thank you for your support in prayer and finances.

BE ENCOURAGED IN THE LORD! (EPHESIANS 6: 10-13)

Yours Servants in Him,

Herman & Sandy
