JAN-FEB-MAR
2008
Dear Christian Friends,
We greet you in the Name of the Lord Jesus! We're as amazed as many of you are that another year has gone by so quickly! Where does the time go? We really enjoyed the last part of 2007.
We had fellowship with the guys of Youth Challenge from Spencer, NY. They came to the area on December 28th to visit family members of one of the guys. We had a great time. Then on December 29th the BIG day finally arrived for Jesse and Mindy. I, along with our pastor Rev. Barden Gerace co-officiated their wedding. It was a great blessing to see our two sons, Jesse and Joshua in their U.S. Army uniforms as Joshua was the best man. Jesse returned to Maryland to complete his training. After a brief leave he and his lovely bride, Mindy will go on to be stationed at Ft. Hood, TX starting on February 6th. Please continue to keep the newly weds in prayer.
On January 19th we went to Orleans Prison. My wife spoke on “But whom say ye that I am?”
based on Matthew 16: 13-18. God moved upon those gathered there and four inmates came forward for prayer, two giving their hearts to Christ along with one who came to reconcile his life back to the only ONE who can redeem us and one asking Jesus to heal him. Broken hearts were touched and God met with us in a very special way. Hallelujah! Our is God good! Also in January on the 27th we have been invited to speak at the Butler Correctional Facility by Chaplain Steve Smith for both Protestant services (1:00PM & 2:30PM). So pray for us as He opens doors.
The director of Youth Challenge (Spencer, NY), Brother Wendall Ashby has asked us to come speak at their chapel service on Friday, February 15th. As many of you know it is a Christ-centered drug rehab program located in the Southern Tier. God is really blessing this faith program. So pray and believe with us that God will do great things in their midst.
As March comes (and hopefully the arrival of spring!) we will be having three days of meetings on the 14-16th with Pastor Ulysses Parris at the Free Deliverance Church of God in Christ on Hudson Avenue in the City of Rochester, NY. He has asked me to speak with the leaders about the five fold ministry (out of Ephesians 4:11) on Saturday morning as well as conduct evangelistic meetings on Friday and Sunday evenings. Again, your prayers for us are much needed to do what is at hand.
Please check out our new web site to see what the Lord has us doing. It is still being put together but you can visit us at www.vegacruz.org. We want to thank our dear friend Bob Shoemaker for all he has done to get it up and running! You're a blessing, Bob!
We want to thank all of you who are faithful to keep us in prayer and for your generous giving. This is a partnership as you are co-laborers with us every time we go out!
As we begin this new year, may the Lord richly bless you!
BE ENCOURAGED IN THE LORD! (PSALM 118: 14-16)
Your servants in Christ,
Herman & Sandra
