JAN-FEB-MAR 2007

Dear Christian Friends,

Greetings in the NAME ABOVE ALL others: Jesus! As we begin the New Year with great anticipation of what the Lord will do it is important that we do not forget that we all have so much to be thankful for! A thankful heart is the key to joyful service to the King of kings! If we can do nothing else this year but be thankful more can be accomplished in our own lives and in the loves of our loved ones. Never underestimate the power of a joyful, thankful heart as it takes the focus off of ourselves and puts it where it rightfully belongs: onto Jesus!

We started January by attending an informational luncheon at Bethel Christian Fellowship (Rochester, NY) for the purpose of getting leaders to be involved with an event called the Night to Honor Israel to be held Sunday evening, March 25th at 6:00PM with Bethel Christian Fellowship hosting it. It is vital that we as Christians understand that our faith is based in Judaism and that we worship a Jewish Messiah. We owe a great debt of gratitude to the Jewish people and we need to bless them. (Genesis 12:3). Later in January we traveled to Harrisburg and Dover, PA to speak at the 1st Bi-lingual Church of Harrisburg (Bishop & Mrs. Emilio Martinez, pastors). Then we spoke at New Life for Girls (Rev. Jose Pacheco, Exec. Dir.) where my wife shared out of Genesis 17:19-21 about whether we as the church would rather just settle for the blessings of Ishmael or would we rather desire the covenant of Isaac. I spoke on the “God of All Circumstances” (based on Psalm 142). God moved in a very wonderful way among His people, breaking doubts and fears! To God be the Glory! From there we went on to Virginia Beach, VA for a ministers’ retreat. There we received refreshment and clarity of direction from the Lord. While we were gone our team went into the Seneca County Jail and the Lord touched two more for His Kingdom! We never stop rejoicing when He does that! It is new every time! Upon our return we spoke at the Orleans Prison where the Lord moved in a mighty way and eight came in repentance to receive His mercy. Isn’t our God big and wonderful?! (Genesis 18:14a; Isaiah 50:2)

In February I went to Bridgeport, CT and spoke at a Christ-centered program called Pivot (Rev. Dave Smith, Exec. Dir.). From there I went to Hartford, CT to attend a banquet at another Christ-centered program called Youth Challenge (where our friend Bishop Raul Gonzalez is the Exec. Dir.) It is good to see what God is continuing to do in the lives of those who have had addictions. Praise God! Also during February we were able to help a family get their loved one into a Christ-centered program. We rejoiced to see how the Lord made a way (and always makes a way) for just one more! At the Seneca County Jail once again, God moved and two more came into the Kingdom! It just seems to us that God is doing a quick work in the earth today.

As for our future plans we are asking for prayer especially as we travel. On March 16-18th we’ll be going to the Teen Challenge Training Center in Pennsylvania to attend a retirement dinner for Rev. John Castellani, who is the Executive Director of Teen Challenge. Then on April 1st we will be going to New Jersey to minister. So our travel days will be March 31st and we’ll return on April 2nd. We will also be traveling back to Virginia Beach, VA April 26-29th to participate in The Assembly 2007. The purpose of this gather is two-fold: first it is historical, celebrating the 400th anniversary of the founding of our nation at the first permanent settlement in Jamestown, VA. Second, but more importantly it is the acknowledgement of what the those first settlers did: namely they fasted, prayed, repented and then planted a cross on the beach in 1607 to humbly ask our God to use this nation as His instrument to declare the Good News. We as His church need to do the same: fast, pray, repent and re-plant a cross in the center of our hearts! We need to return to the basics and recognize that there is still so much that needs to be done!

We just want you to know how much we love and appreciate all your support in prayer and giving. We could not do what we know He has called us to do without you. So we thank you all so very much! May God richly bless you.
BE ENCORANGED IN THE LORD! (PSALM 89:1-18)

Your servants in Christ,

Herman & Sandy
