JAN-FEB-MAR 2006
Dear Christian Friends,
Another year has come and gone by so fast. 2005 was a year of great difficulty in our nation and yet a great year for the Lord to shine through His people! We want to update you on what the Lord's been doing as one year ended and a new one began.
On December 11th we were invited to speak at a Nigerian church in Rochester, NY where Rev. Anthony and Gladys Iwunor are the pastors. My wife shared on Ezekiel 46: 9-10 about how when we come into the house of the Lord we need to go out a different way, not leaving the same way we came in. It is also important to recognize that Jesus our Prince of Peace is in our midst and that He will be with us as we come in and go out. I spoke on "Keeping Your Focus" on Ephesians 2: 1-4, 11-13. God really ministered to His people as they responded to His Word. People are the same the world over, no matter our circumstance, our culture or our country! We need to let God do the work in drawing us to repentance and making us more like Him! The next evening on December 12th we shared at the Christmas gathering at the Seneca County Jail. Brother Frank (from our home church Living Word in Ontario, NY) also shared in the two services along with other volunteers from the area. As we passed along the cookies so generously given by our home church for the inmates and corrections officers we saw how it opened hearts to hear the Good News about the real reason for the season. It was a testimony of His great love as demonstrated by His people. One young man came named Rob, a professing Muslim, came to the Christmas service to see why these Christians would do this. By the end of the sharing and fellowship he agreed that if we would read the Qu'ran he would read the Bible. Of course we agreed as we know it is the TRUTH of God's Word that changes the hearts of men. So you see you never know what a cookie given Jesus' Name will do in the heart of a person. (Mark 9:41 and Matthew 25:35) So continue to keep Rob in prayer! In 2005 we saw more than 100 inmates at the Seneca County Jail alone come accept the Savior. To God Be The Glory!
January 13-20th we went to Pennsylvania and Virginia. Along the way we ministered at New Life for Girls in Dover, PA. The Lord moved powerfully among the girls at the program as they were weeping and broken before Him. There was such hunger and thirst for Him, a true sense of being desperate for Him. We all need to be in a place where we are absolutely desperate for Him and nothing else will do! It is in these places where we are truly changed into His likeness (Romans 6:5) by the power of the Holy Spirit.
From there we ministered at the First Bi-lingual Church of Harrisburg, PA where Rev. Emilio and Ana Martinez are the pastors. Once again a brokenness swept over the congregation as the Lord moved. God is reviving His people to do a new thing in the earth today! (Isaiah 43:19). The next day we went to a ministers' retreat for three days at the Rock Church in Virginia Beach, VA where Bishop John and Rev. Anne Gimenez are the pastors. We came back greatly refreshed in the Lord.
Again in February we were asked to minister in Rochester, NY at Rev. Iwunor's church. The Lord had me speak on the armor of God from Ephesians 6:11-18. God is preparing His people for battle, the battle to win souls for His Kingdom! My wife also had an opportunity to share a testimony on God's goodness in a very practical way. He protected her during a bad car accident by showing her to put the car in neutral as she was sliding all over the road, hitting the guard rail and spinning around. Later we found out that if she not done that she wouldn't have been able to stop at the stop sign at the bottom of the exit ramp and would have gone into four lanes of traffic. Out of that accident she was able to witness to a man very much in need of knowing Jesus. Praise God!
Also in February we attended a strategy meeting with Rev. Mike Chorey (Executive Director of Joshua Revolution) along with other Rochester area ministers for the "Field of Miracles" to be held August 18-20th, 2006 at Frontier Field in Rochester, NY. This event will greatly impact the Kingdom of God as we are believing the Lord to touch young people and their families and change them in Jesus' Name! With Rochester, NY now being the murder capital of New York State (having the highest per capita murder rate), something different has to happen namely, regional transformation by the preaching of the Word of God! Nicky Cruz will be main speaker on two of the nights. We encourage you to get involved, attend this event and bring the lost with you.
Please keep us in prayer for the appointed times we have to speak which will include Seneca County Jail on March 27th as well as April 6-11 when I go to Virginia and then on April 28-30th when we will be in Boston. We especially covert your prayers for Boston because we believe God is trying to shake that city and that region for His righteousness' sake. We desire to see New England changed for His glory.
Thank you for all your faithfulness in prayer and giving.
Be encouraged in the Lord! (I John 1:3).
Your servants in Him,
Herman & Sandra
