APRIL-MAY-JUNE 2008
Dear Christian Friends,
Greeting to you all in the most precious name: JESUS! We are sending this newsletter to express our continued appreciation for all of your prayers and support for the work of the Kingdom of our Lord Jesus Christ.
On Sunday, January 27th we were invited to speak in back to back chapel services at Butler Correctional Facility in Red Creek, NY. It was such a blessing to see the hunger of the inmates at both services where 18 precious souls gave their hearts to the Savior! Hallelujah! We never get tired of seeing the lost come to Jesus!
In February we were traveling both locally and out of state. First we were given the privilege to speak at Youth Challenge (now known as Renovation House) in Spencer, NY during the Friday night chapel service on the 15th. It was graduation for the young man that we took there just one year ago. How awesome to see the change the Lord has made in his life! God really touched the students as well as the outside guests in attendance, confirming His absolute faithfulness in every generation. The Word of God shows forth His grace and truth (John 1:14-17). The next day we had to head out to Virginia as our very dear friend and Bishop, John Gimenez passed on to glory at the age of 76. He presided over Rock Ministerial Family, the council under which we are credentialed. He truly was America’s pastor, calling the Body of Christ and the nation to prayer, humility and repentance, holding prayer rallies known as Washington for Jesus in 1980, 1988, 1996, and America for Jesus in 2004 as well as the Assembly 2007. He died singing and one of nurses caring for him gave her heart to Jesus right there. As my wife said he really didn’t stop singing, he just finished his song on the other side, a song that will continue in eternity. Hallelujah! He was always known to say “Go win a soul!” Please keep the Gimenez family in prayer. This humble, faithful man of God will be missed.
We just finished 3 days of revival (March 14-16) at the Free Deliverance Church of God in Christ on Hudson Avenue in the City of Rochester, NY where Rev. Ulysses Parris and his lovely wife, Minister Josie are the pastors. God really touched His people as they came in brokenness and surrender to receive from the ONLY ONE who can give us what we need. We also gave a brief training session on leadership. All there felt a new sense of urgency for the mission of reaching the lost and discipling the saints for the glory of God. We have been invited back to Butler Correctional Facility on Sunday, March 30th for another set of chapel services. So please keep us in prayer, especially that afternoon. As a result of the first chapel services the prison officials want have a first ever bi-lingual Christmas service this coming December. God is not only touching the inmates but the staff as well. We are really believing the Lord to invade the darkness and transform the whole place, one person at a time. To God be the glory!
Also on March 30th at 6:00PM we will be attending the 2nd Night to Honor Israel to be held at Bethel Christian Fellowship, 321 East Avenue in the City of Rochester, NY. We encourage all those who can to come join the Body of Christ to show support and a deep appreciation for Israel and the Jewish people who have given us the Scriptures and our Messiah, Jesus. Please check out our web site www.vegacruz.org for links to get further information and so you can pray for us for our upcoming speaking events.
April looks a little quieter with a chapel service at Orleans Prison on Saturday the 19th and a time of sharing on the Sunday the 20th at our home church, Living Word (where Rev. Barden Gerace is our pastor) with a group called the Evergreens.
May will have us on the move again. I will be sharing my testimony at the Full Gospel Businessmen’s breakfast in Rochester, NY on Saturday, May 3rd at 8:30AM.
That afternoon we leave for Virginia as I will be speaking at Iglesia de Dios Eben-ezer a Spanish church in Virginia Beach (on Sunday) where Rev. Benito Fonseca is the pastor. From there we will be attending the Rock Ministerial Family Convention, returning on May 8th. Once home we’ll be having a chapel service at Orleans Prison on May 17th.
June looks busy as well. We will be having our 32nd wedding anniversary. My, how time flies when you’re having fun! I thank the Lord for you, honey and for all the wonderful years! After that we’ll then be going to New York City to join in celebration of the 50th Anniversary of Teen Challenge. Hard to believe it has been so many years and hundreds of thousands of souls touched for His glory. I really thank the Lord Jesus Christ for the Wilkerson brothers and Teen Challenge. I am saved today because of that ministry. While in the city I have been given the opportunity to speak at an area church. So you can see we really need your prayers!
May God richly bless you! During these troubled days in the earth keep your eyes on Him and BE ENCOURAGED IN THE LORD! ~PSALM 86:12-15
